Happy Sunday Everyone!
We had a week filled with highs and lows at our house this week. My daughter celebrated her birthday and my son got a stomach bug that caused use to cancel her birthday party. But we still managed to make her birthday special.
I made some of her favorite food, even woke up at 4am so she could take it in her lunch box. I redecorated her room and filled the house with balloons and birthday banners (thank you dollar store). She was blown away when she came home to find the transformation from her old "little girl" room to a "more mature big girl" bedroom. As much as she loves her princess theme bedroom... she loves the fact she's getting old enough to have a room like the girls she sees on her "tween" TV shows.
Finally at the end of the week, everyone was well enough to go to the pumpkin patch so we salvaged some of the birthday festivities plans by keeping that promise. They had a blast at the patch and picked our out their pumpkins. I love pumpkins... especially when they make a tasty soup like the one you will see in the weekly round up.
The next big event comes in a few days with my mother's birthday and then Halloween. I hope they go off a little more smoothly.
