7 Layer Taco Pizza

Yum
This is my version of a 7 Layer Taco Dip turned into a pizza.  I was planning on putting some taco flavored chicken on a pizza when my son saw a can of refried beans and said he wanted that on the pizza too.  So I decided to layer it all in and then the 7 layer taco dip came to mind.  The kids and I had fun making and counting the layers so we could come with seven separate layers.  In the end the pizza turned out just like dip on a toasted pizza crust and was a big hit.

1 pre-cooked pizza crust (ie.. afghan bread, pita, naan, etc...)
1 can of refried beans
6-8oz of sour cream
1 tomato chopped
small handful of chopped black olives
taco flavored ground meat (see note)
8oz of shredded cheddar or Mexican mixed cheese
2 large handfuls of shredded romaine lettuce
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 cup of salsa

Note:  To make the taco flavored ground meat do the following:  Brown any lean ground meat (beef, chicken, pork, turkey) in a pan with 1 Tbs of canola oil.  Then add 1 packet of taco seasoning and 1 cup of salsa.  Cook for 10 minutes and set aside to top the pizza.

Layering Process :
Step 1- apply the refried beans

Step 2- apply a layer of sour cream

Step 3- put layer of seasoned ground meat

Step 4--put layer of black olives

Step 5-put layer of tomatoes

Step 6-put layer of shredded cheese
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 7-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust gets crispy.  Finish off with the final layer of shredded romaine lettuce and enjoy.
