Masala Buffalo Wings

Yum
I used to make buffalo style wings all the time before I had kids.  I haven't made them in a long time because I didn't think my kids could eat them easily.  Well I was wrong.  They can eat them just fine now.  I made these wings and I had my kids and husband clamoring for more, more, more.  Unfortunately, I only made a small batch because I was testing the recipe.  Next time... I will make a giant batch and I won't have to ration them out.  These wings make a meal, great snack or party fare. The best part is I completely baked them in the oven so they are even more figure friendly than their deep fried cousins.

Ingredients:
Note: ( I will give you the quantities for one pound of wings.  If you want to make multiple pounds just increase the ingredients accordingly. )

Marinade:
1-2 cups of buttermilk (enough buttermilk to soak the wings)
1 Tbs of grated ginger
1 Tbs of grated garlic
salt and black pepper
1 Tbs garam masala powder
2 Tbs sweet paprika powder
black pepper and salt to taste

Buffalo Sauce:
1/2 cup of hot sauce (I used Frank's Red Hot)
1 Tbs of butter

Mix marinade with wings and soak overnight or up to 24 hours.   Per heat oven to 400 degrees and lay wings in a baking tray in one layer.

Bake for 20-25 minutes and then turn over and bake for another 20-25 minutes.  You wan the meat to brown well.  In a skillet heat hot sauce and butter.

Once melted, toss baked wings sauce and serve hot. Enjoy.

  7. Yippee, we can have more because they're baked. If all of my kids were home I'd need to make at least 7-8 lbs. My boys would have to have a pound of their own.

  8. YUM! My kids love wings and have been eating them for a while. My problem is that I cannot eat spicy food so I cook less spicy/mild food. Now they are not trained to eat spicy food... I guess slowly introduce spices? Wings with some spice might make them interested, but I'm scared they would say "this is too spicy" and end up not eating...I assume you introduced spicy food to your kids slowly? :)

    1. My daughter has been eating spicy food for a while. My son has gotten into it in the last few years. I give them milk with it... it cools the fires. Try small amounts of spice and increase it when they like it better. If you want to make these wings, you can omit the hot sauce and just try the masala marinade. The paprika is not spicy. :)
