Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie

Yum

Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie is a protein packed and delicious way to start your day.  It's also a fun after school snack when the kids get home.   My kids love making this easy banana smoothie because they can do it all by themselves and that gives me time to make their lunches in the morning or look over school papers after school.  I always have these ingredients on hand in my fridge and freezer so it's quick to gather everything up and simply blend it for a delicious and refreshing meal or snack.   This is one kids in the kitchen even the youngest of little chefs can help make!

Peanut butter and bananas go so well together and my kids add chocolate syrup because they adore chocolate and it also adds some extra sweetness to the smoothie.   I love using Almond milk because it's so full of healthy protein and the low fat yogurt gives the smoothie a lovely flavor as well.

The great thing about this smoothie is it uses up all those bananas I buy every week for the family.  If you always have bananas sitting on your counter getting ripe and you think you will end up throwing them away... don't do it!  I love peeling and slicing these bananas and putting them in small freezer safe plastic bags then freezing them.  The frozen banana slices not only make a delicious tasting smoothie, but they also make it nice and frosty so there is no need for ice that will only dilute the smoothie.  Tip: I always freeze my fruit: Strawberries, pineapple, blueberries etc... when I make a smoothie so they can act as the ice in the smoothie instead of using actual ice.

Next time you have some bananas hanging around, freeze them and add them into a smoothie with some peanut butter.  You'll go "Bananas" for it!

  15. Thanks a lot for this post. I really like the way you write. I would like to write as you are, or at least as a literate student.
