These cookie bars and very yummy, gooey and delicious.
To start you will need 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs. You can buy graham cracker crumbs or buy the graham crackers and crumb them in your food processor. Other types of cookies that will work well in this recipe are Vanilla wafers, Chocolate Wafers and Ginger Snaps
Melt 1/2 cup of butter or margarine in the microwave.
Mix graham cracker crumbs and butter together until it is a has a wet sand consistency. Gently press crumbs down the bottom of a 9x13 size oven safe pan.
Pour one can of condense milk over the pressed cookie crumbs.
Now cover with a layer of semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 1 cup) and one cup of sweet coconut flakes (this is not regular desiccated coconut, it is a sweetened coconut that is found in the baking aisle). You can also add any other topping you like like crushed nuts, peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips, raisins, dried fruit and marshmallows.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Allow to cool and cut into bars. Yields about 30-36 bars.
