It's only one week until Christmas... I am so excited! Wait... I think I'm a little terrified too. I just realized I have some more presents to buy, wrap and food to make. Well, I think I need a little treat to get me through all this hustle and bustle of the season.
My kids and husband love ice cream and milkshakes. We could be in the middle of a blizzard and if there is a carton of ice cream in the house it will be eaten. So making a holiday inspired milkshake is not that crazy for my family. This Throwback Thursday I bring you the Gingerbread Milkshake.
It really is easy and definitely fun to drink. So if it's too cold for you to sip a frozen treat, turn up the heat and enjoy!
Ingredients:
3 cups vanilla ice cream
1-2 tsp ground ginger powder (depending how strong you want the ginger flavor)
1/2-1 tsp ground cinnamon
2-3 gingersnap cookies (more for garnish)
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups milk (use less milk if you want it very thick)
1 Tbs molasses
Directions:
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth (use the lower range of ginger and cinnamon spices to start). Taste and adjust spices as needed. Serve in a glass with straw or a spoon. Garnish with more ginger snaps (whole or crumbled). Serves 2-3. Enjoy
