Mini Cinnamon Rolls (Kids in the Kitchen Series)

Yum

It's been a while since I posted a Kids in the Kitchen recipe.  My kids are always helping me around the kitchen, but with school and homework it's been a bit of a challenge to do a post and photograph it.  Christmas is a time that everyone should help make treats so I got my kids to make Mini Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast.

These cinnamon rolls are super easy to do and the perfect little kitchen activity for the kids.  It starts with some store bought crescent roll dough.   Making the rolls with the crescent dough is not only easy, it's quick.  There is no need to knead or rest the dough.  You just roll, bake and enjoy.

Read Below for the Recipe and Step by Step Directions with Photos

Ingredients:
1 tub crescent dough
3 Tbs butter or margarine melted
4 Tbs granulated white sugar
2 tsp cinnamon powder

Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbs milk

Recipe adapted from Pillsbury

 Directions:

Carefully remove crescent dough out of tube and leave in one sheet on a cutting board. Use a rolling pin to roll out perforations from the dough.  Melt butter in microwave and apply generously with brush onto dough.

Sprinkle sugar/cinnamon mixture evenly over dough.  Then start at one end and carefully roll up into a bun/roll.

To make this child friendly, use a pizza cutter to cut out small rolls.  If you do not have a pizza cutter, a parent can carefully cut rolls.  Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 375 for 15-20 minutes.  Until golden brown.  Make glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk and drizzle all over rolls.  Enjoy.
