Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls (Kids in the Kitchen Series)

Yum

The cinnamon roll recipe the kids made for our last segment of Kids in the Kitchen was such a big success that they asked for another cinnamon type roll recipe.  We decided doing a peanut butter and chocolate version would be a tasty idea.

We again used store bought crescent roll dough to make the rolls quick and easy. Peanut butter and chocolate chips rounded out the recipe, but the fun little addition was the cinnamon sugar we sprinkled before rolling them.

These little rolls were such a tasty and a lovely little treat with a big glass of milk.  The kids and the adults all gave them a big thumbs up.

Read Below for the Recipe and

Ingredients:
1 tub crescent dough
1/2 cup peanut butter (chunky or creamy)

1/4 cup chocolate chips
2 Tbs granulated white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon powder

Step by Step Directions with Photos:

Carefully remove crescent dough out of tube and leave in one sheet on a cutting board. Use a rolling pin to roll out perforations from the dough.

Then warm peanut butter in microwave for 20-30 seconds and apply on dough in an even layer from edge to edge.

Next mix cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle over the peanut butter layer.

Finally sprinkle the chocolate chips over entire dough.

Roll the dough into a log.
To make this child friendly, use a pizza cutter to cut out small rolls.  If you do not have a pizza cutter, a parent can carefully cut rolls.  Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 375 for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.  Top with a few more chocolate chips and serve.  Enjoy.
