Note: Throwback Thursday is a new series where I take some of my original posts here on Curry and Comfort and redo them so I can take better photos.
Ingredients:
1lb ground chicken
salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 tsp granulated garlic
1/2 tsp paprika
Your Buffalo Sauce:
2 Tbs of melted butter
3 Tbs of Red Hot Sauce ( I recommend Franks Red Hot)
1 Tbs of Ketchup
Mix all ingredients together well.
Low the heat to med-low and coat both sides of the burger with the sauce evenly. Allow to fry the burgers until they are fully cooked.
Serves 4. Serve with fries or any vegetable side and Creamy Slaw (recipe below).
Note: If you are a fan of blue cheese and wings, you can also top the burger with blue cheese crumbles. If you want it creamy stir the crumbles into some sour cream and season with salt and pepper.
To make the Creamy Slaw:
- 1lb of shredded cabbage or a bag of shredded cabbage
- 2 serrano or jalapeno peppers seeded and finely diced
- 1 small onion finely diced or sliced
- 2-3 Tbs of sour cream (reduced fat is fine, but not non-fat)
- 1 Tbs of mayo (reduced fat is fine, but not non-fat)
photo circa 2011 - sprinkle of celery seeds
- sprinkle of sugar (to taste)
- 1 Tbs of rice wine vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste

Interesting dish, dear friend! My kids are so fond of slaw, chicken and burger... so shall try this one for them. And, as usual, great photos...
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! My husband would love it! He has never been interested in chicken burgers in the past but the buffalo sauce would make it a sure bet!
ReplyDeleteYup - I'm pretty sure I could go for this. Where were you during today's BBQ? =)
ReplyDeleteLove Buffalo chicken! My husband isn't a huge fan. But this recipe is great - I can make some for me, and leave some for him! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your "Throwback Thursday" idea! I replace old photos once in a while but I just cannot do it regularly. I'm very impressed your dedication to do it every week! Great job Ramona! This burger looks delicious. Your homemade burger looks much more delicious than any burger outside. :)
ReplyDeleteSo cool I can make this recipe easily at home since I have all ingredients here except the hot sauce. What can I use instead of the hot sauce?
ReplyDeleteHelene, maybe try a spicy chili sauce. I think Maggi brand has a spiced up ketchup. :)
DeleteI thought the original photo looked tasty, but the new one is just droolable
ReplyDeleteMy kids love buffalo chicken in any way, shape or form! So these buffalo chicken burgers are the perfect alternative to hamburgers! They just look scrumptious Ramona!
ReplyDeleteYour family is so lucky to get all these savory and sweet treats!
ReplyDeleteWhat a deliciously tasty photo :D
ReplyDeleteCheers
CCU
It cracks me up to think about your children going for the hot sauce. Then again, they've grown up eating spicy food. Good for them!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to try both of these recipes, Ramona. They sound really delicious. You've solved one of my "what am I going to make for dinner" dilemmas for the weekend.
I am trying to expand my burgers beyond the beef patties this summer. Love this idea!
ReplyDeleteHow did you know I LOVE buffalo chicken EVERYTHING?!?! Ramona you are, once again, a genius heehee. Can't wait to dig into these! :D
ReplyDeletePERFECT summer dinner, Ramona! Your family is so lucky to have you!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are some hot cha cha burgers Ramona! Definitely will need that delicious looking coleslaw to cool things down a bit, but not much. Love those spicy burgers!
