Cinnamon Pecan Crescent Rolls

Yum

We have a tradition of making cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning while we open presents.  I always buy the stuff in the tube because I'm not getting up early to make them from scratch... not that I can make them from scratch anyway. LOL!  I decided to experiment with crescent rolls this year and give a little of my own homemade touch to them.   They were spectacular and I loved them even more than the cinnamon rolls from a tube.   My favorite part was the added crunch from the pecans.  Pecans are healthy so I guess I can feel less guilty eating my roll with all the butter and sugar. :)

Ingredients:
1 tub of crescent rolls (makes 8 large rolls)
1/3 cup butter or margarine (at room temperature)
2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/3 cup brown sugar
2oz of pecans chopped

Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 Tbs warm water or milk
1-2 Tbs softened butter

Directions:
Mix the softened butter, sugar and cinnamon together until it forms a paste.  Roll out each crescent roll and slather with filling. Sprinkle with chopped pecans and roll into crescent shape.  Roll tightly or it will not look nice.

Take all glaze ingredients and mix together and set aside.  Use the smaller amounts suggested for the glaze first and adjust as needed.
Bake according to crescent package instructions:  Allow to cool for a few minutes and drizzle with glaze.  Serve warm. Enjoy.
