Eggnog Glazed Cake Donuts

Yum
This is the first time I made donuts after buying my donut baking trays six months ago.  I decided to "christen" my new trays with these easy Eggnog Cake Donuts.  My husband was standing like a lion about to pounce on his prey when they came out of the oven... he had to have one glazed or not.  I had to reprimand him before he went for a 2nd one hot out of the oven. I only made a dozen and I wanted to glaze them and take my pictures, of course. So he pouted and went downstairs to wait for them to cool a bit and get glazed. It was worth the wait.  But, I do agree with him that hot out of the oven was pretty awesome too.

 Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix (see note)
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
1 egg
1/4 oil
1/2 cup prepared eggnog (store bought  is what I used)

Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
2-3 Tbs eggnog (enough to make a thick pourable glaze)

Directions:
Mix box cake mix, egg, oil and eggnog together with electric mixer.

The batter will be thick and a bit sticky.  Carefully spoon batter into donut baking tray.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-17 minutes or fully cooked. Flip over and allow to cool slightly.  Mix glaze and spoon over donuts. Allow glaze to set and enjoy.

Donuts are best eaten immediately.  If they sit for several hours, just place in microwave for 10-15 seconds and warm them up. Enjoy.
