Ingredients:
Cooking spray
1 egg
4 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons flour
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
A pinch of salt
2 caramel candies
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
My addition: caramel Syrup
Garnishments: raspberries
Directions:
Spray both microwave safe mugs with cooking spray. Then beat egg and mix all ingredients (except for the caramel candies) to form a batter. Pour batter into sprayed mugs. Cook on high for 2 minutes in microwave. Take mugs out and poke a caramel candy in the center of each mug cake and put into the microwave for an additional 40 seconds. I poured some more caramel sauce on my cake since the candies did not melt well and garnished with raspberries. Eat it straight out of the mug or flip over onto a plate and serve. Enjoy.

ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I am going to save this for a night I am pinched for time. I just want to grab that fork you have on the picture and devour the caramel left.

ReplyDeleteReva
That looks awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteI, too, have seen these cakes...but my new microwave cooks so differently than my previous one, I figured I'd have a mess of something inedible on my hands :/ But I think my kids would think this was great fun...so I want to give these a shot when they're all here for the holidays. Topping with caramel sauce makes these even more appealing!
ReplyDelete5 mug recipes at once. I cannot believe it. This looks delicious. I haven't made a chocolate cake one yet, nor have I made any in a very long time. I might be heading to the kitchen very soon.
ReplyDeleteI've tried a microwave mug cake once and it was a complete failure. You inspired me to try again! The caramel surprise sounds too tempting :) Have a fabulous weekend, Ramona! xoxo
ReplyDeleteJoin the 2 minute club my friend, the idea of a caramel surprise blew me away :D

Wow this sounds fabulous...
ReplyDeleteI just had to go and open my mouth about microwave cake in a mug. This is so tempting and I know I will try it.
ReplyDeleteI tried this once and is was disaster! Bobby and I neither one could eat it and had to throw it out. However, looking at your recipe and the one I remember using, there was A LOT more flour and it used cocoa powder instead of syrup. I think too much flour was what made it "tough". This recipe does look like a very moist cake and now I think I'm ready to try again after seeing this. Let me know when you improve about it. It's a great idea for this household because I can't have sweets laying around or I'll be eating on them all day. :)
ReplyDeleteAww man this looks great! Maybe i just picked a bad mug cake recipe then :/ I'll have to try again now that I've seen real success :)
