Hello Everyone,
Here I am sheepishly typing because I still have not posted a pumpkin recipe this week as I promised last week (and the week before that). This week was more about tomatoes with four recipes. So, it's some good ideas for those of you finishing off the last of your summer tomatoes. Although pumpkin was not on the radar this week, I am so glad that I made a Halloween inspired recipe with candy corn. If I didn't, I think I would have had a mutiny on my hands from my kids. I will definitely have some pumpkin recipes this week because I made a recipe with pumpkin today and I can't wait to share it with you.
I also participated in the Hidden Valley Ranch challenge via the Tastemaker Program from Dailybuzz to highlight using Ranch dressing and seasoning mixes to make a dish. Their goal is to get kids into the healthy habit of eating more vegetables. My kids love the stuff and so do I. It was not hard to come up with a recipe to use the Ranch Dressing Mix. We ate two types of tacos (fish and chicken) this week so we could enjoy the Avocado Ranch Sauce that I made.
As much as I love the fall weather, these days have me feeling like a quick change artist. The mornings are like winter and the days like spring. I have to keep dressing in layers and keep my eye on the weather channel so I know what to do next. My kids are suffering from allergies and the "germs" are starting to invade our house thanks to all the colds and bugs getting passed around in school. I see myself making more soups soon. I did make a really good spicy Thai Tomato Basil soup this week that helped make some of the cool temperatures more comfortable.
I can't wait to share next weeks recipes, but before that let's review this past weeks recipes.

ReplyDeleteI loved your recipes this week. I cooked enough pumpkin for the both of us! I just started doing the weekly round-up today. It was almost more work than creating a whole new recipe and post! We will see how my readers like it. Hope your Sunday is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI like the tomato recipes. I have only been making pumpkin things lately and cough, cough, I might be getting a little sick of it. Plus, pumpkin is good at least through November.
ReplyDeleteThere's still time for more pumpkin....fall has just begun :) Loved all the tomato posts...just wished I had more garden tomatoes to cook with!
ReplyDeleteLots of autumn left for pumpkin my friend :D
ReplyDeleteCheers
