Hot Dog Curry

Yum
I always say you can make a curry with almost anything.. so why not hot dogs.  I knew I had to share this recipe for Hot Dog Week.  I made this curry mild enough that it was totally kid friendly to eat and not spicy like my usual meat curries.  It's sweet and tangy and perfect to eat with rice, naan or roti.  The kids loved it... and so did the adults.

 Ingredients:
1 (1lb) package of hot dogs (your favorite kind)cut into bite size pieces
1 medium onion chopped
small piece of cinnamon stick
small handful of curry leaves (optional)
small piece of pandan leave (optional)
2-3 cloves of garlic grated
1 Tbs grated fresh ginger
1 tsp fennugrek seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp curry powder
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
2-3 Tbs ketchup
1/3 cup milk
salt and black pepper to taste

 Directions:
Start pan on medium high heat.  Heat 1 Tbs oil in a pan and saute onion, pandan leaf, curry leaves and cinnamon stick.   Next add fennugreek seeds, garlic, some salt and ginger. Saute for 2 minutes.
Then add the sliced hot dogs and saute for another 2-3 minutes.  Next add paprika, curry powder and turmeric and saute for 1 minute.

Add the tomato sauce and ketchup.  Cook for 2-3 minutes.  Finish with milk and lower the heat and cook for another two minutes.  Serve hot.  Enjoy.
