Here I am writing another Sunday Summary. These Sunday Summaries make me realize how fast the weeks are going by because I'm always shocked when I am typing another one so quickly.
School is back in session and both my kids have met their teachers, classmates and confronted their first day jitters. I am also adjusting to getting back in the routine of packing lunches. Last year I only had to pack one school lunch, but this year my daughter needs a lunch as well and meeting both their lunch needs can get daunting at times.
After an entire summer of hot lunch, eating a sad little sandwich does not excite them. My little one is also a spice girl so bland is not her thing. She wants something with kick and I actually had to put some "devilied onion sambal" on a butter and cheese sandwich for her. Yes... she loved it and requested it for three days in a row. My son is the picky eater and he resented the PB&J sandwich I made for him the first day. He had me pack him with some of my homemade pizza (from dinner) cold for a few days. He would rather eat cold pizza than a boring sandwich. I must invest in some thermos so I can send them something hot this week. I volunteered to help out during lunch at their school this past week and had to snoop at all the food the other kids brought in for ideas. I was amazed at the variety of food. I definitely need to up my game in this department.
