Interesting - I had absolutely never heard of it, since I grew up in Germany, post the 70s. I don't like pineapples, either, or marshmallows, so I'd probably not be into this. Pistachio though... yum! I didn't even know there was pistachio jell-o pudding!
ReplyDeletemy grandmother used to make something like this for easteR!

ReplyDeletehaha I've never heard this called watergate salad but I know exactly what it is from countless parties as a kid. Some kinda variation was around, sometimes with green jello or yellow jello instead of pudding. Oh kiddy memories. thanks for the nostalgia! :)
ReplyDeleteSo retro--I love it! Seriously, I faintly remember this from my childhood but had forgotten all about it.

ReplyDeleteGirl - you just transported me back into the 70's! I remember when this recipe came out (yes, I was a teenager in the 70's). EVERYONE was making it. You couldn't have a holiday or go to a party without it being on the table. I have to admit that it was one of the dishes that actually made you feel guilty for liking it and I did like it! :) Good for you for bringing into the 21st century!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this - how fun!
ReplyDeleteRamona....I'm with MJ! Transported right back to the '70s! This really was so popular back then. And I also remember making Jello pistachio pudding when I was a kid (using a hand held rotary beater!) LOL. How fun! I love this blast from the past....and will have to make it again soon! : )
