Chicken Tikka Masala (Throwback Thursdays)

Yum
I recently did a remake of my Chicken Tikka so I knew I had to redo the
2011 Photo
Chicken Tikka Masala curry as well.  This curry is made with roasted marinated chicken pieces (Chicken Tikka) in a flavorful sauce.  It's a pretty easy dish to make if you already have prepared Chicken Tikka leftovers. If not, you will need to take a few  additional steps before making the curry.

Note:  Throwback Thursday is a new series where I take some of my original posts here on  Curry and Comfort and redo them so I can take better photos.
 Ingredients:
Leftover  Chicken Tikka Skewers (Recipe)
1 large onion chopped
1 Tbs fresh ginger grated or minced
1 Tbs fresh garlic grated or minced
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
red chili powder/cayenne to taste
1/4 tsp turmeric
salt (or to taste)
1 Tbs garam masala
1 can(15oz) of tomatoes or 4 diced fresh tomatoes
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup of heavy cream or milk

If you don't have prepared Chicken Tikkas, then you will first have to follow the steps in the this recipe link to make the Chicken Tikkas Skewers: Chicken Tikka Skewers (Recipe)

Directions:
In large pan heat 1-2Tbs of oil on medium-high heat and saute onions, ginger and garlic for a few minutes. Next add ground spices that you gathered above.  Fry until fragrant (careful not to burn).

Then add the tomatoes and water and cook all the ingredients together for a few minutes. Next add the chicken tikkas chunks that you made earlier.  Cook for another few minutes.  Finish off with cream or milk.

Simmer on medium heat.   Taste for seasoning here.  Serves 6-8 people.  Enjoy.  Serve with Rice, Salad and any other veggie dishes.
