Carrot, Ginger and Apple Juice

Once upon a time my beautiful bright and shiny juicer sat on my kitchen counter and got used every day without fail.  Then after several months of drinking all this healthy and delicious juices, I got distracted and busy so I missed a few days of juicing.  Then a few days became a week and you know how the story goes.  My healthy habit was broken and forgotten.  Then the juicer got pushed into the pantry closet to open up room for my other kitchen gadgets.  Today, I pulled out my lonely and forgotten juicer and decided it needed some attention.   Juicing is a fun way to get loads of healthy ingredients into your diet without actually having to eat them all.  I had a bunch of carrots and apples so I thought the kids would love the sweetness of this 100% natural juice.  Of course I had to add something "spicy" to it so I added some fresh ginger.  The ginger gave it a wonderful little "kick" and the kids loved it.  I think it's time the juicer got back on the counter for good....

4-5 carrots
2-4 apples
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
1/2 inch of ginger (peeled)

Directions:  Juice all ingredients with machine.  Enjoy immediately for best flavor and health benefits.

Note:  This recipe does require a juicing machine to get best results.

  8. This juice sounds so delicious, Ramona, especially with the ginger. I don't have a juicer, but I can definitely see the benefits of juicing. I'll bet that your carrot, apple, and ginger combo is really refreshing.

  9. I'm so torn about whether I should get a juicer. It's an investment and it takes up a lot of space and I'm not sure I would use it enough! I tend to not like green juices, but this sounds good!

  10. My juicer is looking a bit lonely also. I will try your recipe when I bring it out of retirement.

  11. I did that with my blender for almost a YEAR before I moved over to the new house and realized it has been so forgotten. Ramona this juice sounds so healthy and refreshing, do you think I could make it in a blender and not a juicer?? Or would that kill my blender lol?!

  12. This juice is interesting to me because I make a carrot, ginger and apple soup which we love. It's a little sweet so I can see having it as a juice would be perfect! Delicious!
