Here's a fun dish to serve with the Broccoli and Cauliflower Mash that I posted yesterday. You can't have green colored mash without some authentic Irish bangers on St. Patrick's Day. I saw this Authentic Style Irish Bangers in my Costco recently, so I knew I had to get them to enjoy for the holiday. I made a simple sauteed dish with the bangers and it was perfect.

1 large package of sausages (2lbs)
2 large onions sliced
2 bell peppers slices (any color)
1 clove garlic finely minced or grated
salt and black pepper to taste
red chili flakes to taste
1-2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
canola oil as needed
1 Tbs Butter
Directions:

Add banger/sausages back to pan and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot with your favorite style potato or cauliflower/broccoli mash. Enjoy.

Yum! I love the peppery twist your bangers received. Such a great way to get into the St. Patty's spirit.
ReplyDeleteHey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.

Loving that you serve this with the mash. I think this is way better than the whole corned beef and cabbage meal.
ReplyDeleteGreat Irish dinner! Now I'm in the mood for sausages :)
ReplyDeleteMakes me hungry, very delicious platter.
ReplyDeleteThose bangers at Costco are incredible. Since I'm sure this is one of their seasonal items, I went back today and bought 3 more packages for the freezer. Great idea with the peppers and onions!
ReplyDeleteDelicious looking dish, happy st. paddy's day!
ReplyDeleteComfort food! We have an equivalent of Costco in South America...called PriceSmart. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious meal!
ReplyDeleteI freaking LOVE bangers and mash, probably because the Italian side of the family does sausage and peppers all the time. It's pouring rain here today and this looks like a lovely, hearty dinner for sure! :D
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a banger before but I think I'm going to like it!
ReplyDeleteLove the addition of all of those vegetables. Makes this a much healthier meal!
