I made these pork kebabs for dinner and they were a big hit. The recipe could not be simpler because I let the marinade do all the work. I actually allowed these to marinate in the fridge for 36 hours and not the typical overnight or 24 hours that I usually do. The flavor really got into the meat and it tasted like something from a kebab restaurant. I served it with some yogurt mint sauce and we ate it with salad and some pita bread. Here's another make my own take out dish that makes me want to cross off going out for a kebab meal in the future.
Ingredients:
2lb of lean pork loin cubed in 1 inch cubes

Marinade:
1/4 cup up to 1/3 cup of soy sauce
1/3 cup up to 1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 Tbs of Garam Masala Powder
2 Tbs of grated ginger/garlic paste or 1 of each separately
1-2 Tbs of honey
black pepper to taste
Directions:

Yogurt Mint sauce:
1 cup plain yogurt
1 small handful of minted chopped
1/2 tsp of ground cumin
juice of half a lime or full lime if it's not too juicy
salt to taste
Stir well and allow to chill for a few minutes before serving.

What a great and easy summer dinner! Love the flavors in here!
ReplyDeleteLove making variations on this theme! Quite my favourite way of eating lean pork these days. Must admit I usually just marinate overnight and, next time around, I'll most certainly allow the marinade to do more work :) ! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis looks incredible!!! I will be making this soon, I know my whole family will love it!
ReplyDeleteThose pork kabobs look perfect!!! I'm not sure if they would make it to that delicious mint sauce! Great summer meal!
ReplyDeleteLove the dish, and love the photos! Great job.

ReplyDeleteI love kebabs during the summer. There's just something so fun about eating with your fingers/eating meat off a stick LOL. That yogurt sauce looks fab too. :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't made pork kebabs in ages...my mom used to ALL the time. I need to dig up her recipe and meld it with yours! I'd love to add some ginger :) Another beauty!
ReplyDeleteSeriously woman, I'll be right over. You should make extra. I'll be famished from my travels.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy grill weather is here. We have been cooking out nonstop lately. I need to get more wooden skewers. This recipe sounds delicious. Once I get more wood sticks this will be on tap.
ReplyDeleteI love pork kabobs! Your yogurt marinade looks awesome! Pork dries out so easily as a kabob, but I would think this marinade helps to keep them moist. Need to try this!
