Hershey's Candy Cane Cookies

Yum
I think I have gone a little candy cane crazy.  That's right..here I am with another candy can sweet treat for you to enjoy.  Well, it's just that time of the year and candy canes are so festive and pretty.  I have seen a lot of people making cookies with these special candy cane Hershey's kisses, so I had to throw my hat in the ring and make my own version.  I actually made these cookies over the weekend and wanted to save them for Christmas.   Unfortunately, three little naughty "elves" that I call my hubby and two kids ate all of them in a matter of days. All I am left with are these pictures so will have to make another batch before Christmas to share with our family.  Good thing these cookies are a snap to throw together. Are you asking if I am over my candy cane craze yet?  Maybe not... I think I have one more up my sleeve.  : )

 Ingredients:
1 box of yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup of canola oil
red and green sprinkles
Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses

Directions:

Mix the box cake mix, egg and oil to make your cookie batter.  Then roll balls of cookie dough and coat with the sprinkles.

Place coated cookie dough balls on a sprayed baking sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven for 13-15 minutes. When your edges begin to brown take the cookies out and allow them to cool on the baking sheet.  Place candy cane Hershey's Kisses on each cookie as desired.  Enjoy.

Bonus recipe:
If you prefer to just have sugar coated cookies without the Hershey kisses follow recipe and leave out the last step where you add the kisses.  They make terrific sugar cookies too. :)

  12. OH you definitely have to have the kisses in the cookies! There's nothing like biting into a sugar cookie and getting a little chocolate and mint with it - I can only imagine. Love these little cookies! Happy Holidays!!
