Did you know that the Oreo is America's favorite cookie? I know I can't say no to that classic chocolate cookie with the cream filling that I grew up eating. There's nothing better, well except maybe a bite-sized treat made out of a crushed Oreo then dipped in chocolate.
Ever wonder what would happen
if you let yourself get creative with batch of Oreo cookie balls this holiday season? :)
These
cookie balls only take 5 minutes to prepare and then it's play time for
you and your kids to get involved in decorating these fun treats. It's a
great way to share some holiday cheer during the Christmas season.
My
kids and I decided to do a fun scene with a Christmas tree and
snowballs. I used white chocolate, food coloring, coconut and even some
dark chocolate.
Ingredients
o
1 pkg. (8 oz.) brick cream cheese,
softened
o
36
OREO Cookies, finely crushed in food processor (about 3 cups)
o 4 pkg. (4 oz. each)
semi-sweet baking white chocolate, melted
Directions:

o SHAPE into 48 (1-inch) balls. Freeze 10 min. Dip balls in melted chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan.

o CUSTOMIZE it with your own ingredient additions or decorative skills.
o REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm.
Special Notes for making the Christmas Tree: Add sprinkles immediately before the chocolate sets to adhere well. Make the tree as big as you want by adding more Oreo cookie balls to the bottom by two (so to make my tree bigger the next row would have 5 cookie balls. Make sure you make one yellow ball for the "star" at the top of the tree and a chocolate ball for the trunk of the tree.
Special Notes for the Snow balls: Dip in white chocolate and immediately roll in baker's sweetened coconut.

o

o

antlers anyone? Create your own squadron of reindeer

you!
