Swiss Steak in Slow Cooker

Yum
I was looking for bargains in the the meat department of my grocery store when I saw a pack of cube steak.  I immediately thought about preparing in the crock-pot.  The next day I took 20 minutes to prep the Swiss Steak after breakfast.  Then I let it cook all morning long while I spent it lounging around playing with my kids. Fifteen minutes before the Swiss steak was ready I cooked some pasta  and lunch was served.  This was so good that my husband asked for 2nds for dinner.  I love when that happens.  This was a bargain at the grocery store that turned out to not only save money on my wallet, but bought me some extra time with my family too.

 Ingredients:
2lbs cubed steak
dreading ingredients (flour, salt and black pepper)
1 medium onion chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped
2 stalks celery chopped
1/2lb sliced button mushrooms
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp paprika
red chili flakes (to taste)
1 can Rotel (10oz) tomatoes and green chilies
1/2 cup water
1/2 jar of prepared pasta or Marinara sauce
1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbs soy sauce

Directions:
Dredge cube-steak with seasoned flour on both sides.  Heat a saute pan with 1-2 Tbs of canola oil and brown both sides of cube steak.

Place can of diced tomatoes into crock-pot and turn onto high.  Place browned cube steak into crock-pot over the diced tomatoes. Add all seasonings and sauces listed above.

Saute the mushrooms in the pan that the steak was browned.  Finally add all the prepared vegetables into the crock-pot.  Cook on high for 3 1/2 hours.  Serve over cooked pasta. Enjoy.
