Heart Shaped Egg and Sandwich Cut-outs for Lunchbox Week

Yum

Welcome to Day 2 of Lunchbox Week.  Today's feature recipes ideas are done by the "Kids in the Kitchen".  The kids had a blast making these heart shaped eggs and sandwich cut-outs.  The eggs were a little tricky, but they came out pretty really cute.  I think we need a little more practice to make them really perfect,  but for our first try, I think they turned out well.  The sandwich cut-out were just fun for the kids to play around with.  I gave them sliced cheese, butter bread and they created their own little lunch treats.

Ingredients:

The Heart shaped Eggs:
Boiled eggs
dowel or chopstick
corner of box of cereal
rubberbands
wax paper (optional_

Sandwich Cut-outs
Bread
Cookie cutters of choice
sliced cheese
butter or margarine

 Directions:
Place the hard boiled eggs between the folded cardboard and place the chopstick. It's best to do one egg at time.  Note: I wrapped the cardboard box with wax paper to keep it clean.  Allow to sit at least 10 minutes.

Butter bread and place slice of cheese. Place 2nd slice of bread and cut out with cookie cutter.  For center of flower, use a smaller cookie cutter.   Enjoy.
